The Australian Gold Nugget is perhaps the most iconic Australian Gold Bullion coin. Starting from 1986 a new design has been produced every year, with the Australian Kangaroo being introduced to the design in 1989. Since then, the Gold Nugget has often been referred to as the Gold Kangaroo. The Australian Gold Kangaroo is one of the few legal tender gold coins worldwide that features a new design every year.

Obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, weight & purity and the 2010 year-date are depicted.
Reverse features the 2010 design which portrays two kangaroos "boxing" in the outback. Also seen is the inscription "Australian Kangaroo", the Perth Mint "P" mint mark, date, purity and weight.
